5 Reasons Why You Need to Give All Your Worries to God

Songs can teach us more than we expect. That’s how we feel about “Cast My Cares” by Finding Favour. Blake Neesmith, lead singer of the band, wrote the lyrics as a reminder to himself after his first child was born. He was on the road with the band a lot and found he was stepping into the unknown. This song keeps him centered and he hopes it will meet you right where you need encouraged the most.

Here are 5 reasons why you need to give all your worries to God.

1. God is strong enough to hold it all.

Have you ever worried about being too much of a burden? Well, stop worrying. God cares so much about you and is ready to hold every struggle, all the anxiety, and every question you have inside of you.

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” (1 Peter 5:7 NLT)

2. God is the anchor of our hope.

No matter what confusion or evil is going on in the world, God stays perfect and powerful. With Him, there is always hope.

“This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.” (Hebrews 6:19-20 NLT)

3. God is the only one who’s in control.

“We can make our plans,
but the Lord determines our steps.” (Proverbs 16:9 NLT)

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT)

4. God sees the future no one knows yet.

All those worries about the future? God knows exactly what will happen and wants you to stop worrying and rest in Him. He’s got you – no matter what happens along the way.

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God[e] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” (Matthew 6:31-33 NLT)

5. You will find freedom.

When you’re trusting God, everything falls into perspective. The sense of freedom is a beautiful thing.

“And because you belong to him, the power[a] of the life-giving Spirit has freed you[b] from the power of sin that leads to death.” (Romans 8:2 NLT)
