You Can Help End Domestic Violence

Hey! We love that you're interested in this, but just a heads up, it's for The Gulf Coast.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month so we’re shining the Service Spotlight on the Domestic Violence Program of the Panama City Salvation Army!

It is the mission of the Salvation Army Domestic Violence Program to bring about social change through advocacy, community education and awareness, professional training, crisis intervention and prevention services, community outreach services and support for victims and survivors of domestic violence and their children/families. To provide a safe and supportive environment for those in crisis and to halt the perpetuation of domestic violence.

In addition to their main outreach office located in Panama City serving the Bay County area their safe shelter program also has two satellite outreach offices in Chipley (serving Holmes, Jackson and Washington Counties) and the Port St. Joe Courthouse (serving Gulf and Calhoun Counties). These offices were established in an effort to meet the needs of the undeserved rural populations.

The Salvation Army is always looking for volunteers or even donations for their shelters. If you want to Live Service Out this month with The Salvation Army Domestic Violence Program you can contact them at 850-769-5259
