3 Things To Remember When You Feel Worn

Hey! We love that you're interested in this, but just a heads up, it's for Southwest Florida.

Have you ever felt worn out spiritually? Sometimes as Christians it is easy to pretend everything is perfect when it is not. Sometimes we’re worn out even before the day begins, and there is not enough coffee in the world to get us through it! The song Worn by Tenth Avenue North describes this feeling the best: “I know I need to lift my eyes up, but I’m too weak, life just won’t let up”

When life just won’t let up here are three important things for you to remember.

1. It’s Ok To Cry

When life won’t let up it is ok to cry. Sometimes we forget that. David wept and cried out to God when he was distressed, and the Bible reminds us that God blesses those who mourn. So the next time you are under the weight of the world go ahead and cry.

“I am worn out from sobbing. All night I flood my bed with weeping, drenching it with my tears. – Psalm 6:6 (NLT)”

2. God Is With You

All of your tears and all of your prayers are heard by God. No matter what you go through, even when you feel alone, God is with you and he will never leave you nor forsake you.

“… for the Lord has heard my weeping. The Lord has heard my plea… – Psalm 6:8-9”

3. There is Hope

No matter what you are going through, whether it is long term or temporary, you have a hope that is found in Christ alone. Because of Christ’s sacrifice, God is making everything new, and one day we will share in God’s glory, and all of your struggles will be over.

Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. – Romans 5:2″

So the next time you feel worn remember it is ok to cry. But also remember the struggle does end, and God can make a song rise from the ashes of a broken life, because he is always with you, and because he is making all things new!
