What up. Haven’t blogged in awhile. Big crowds! …of course, they disappear when I lay out what it means to follow me. But attracting a crowd is never, ever the point. Hopefully, people will remember that.
Anyway, just wanted to sum up some of the stuff I’ve said in public, in case you’ve missed it! Here you go! (I put my words in a different color because you guys like that kind of thing.)
Before Abraham was born, I Am.
When you see me, you are seeing the One who sent me.
I am with you always, even until the end of the age.
I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.
I am the Messiah. And you’ll see me coming on the clouds.
I am the light of the world. I am the way, the truth and the life.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life.
Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.

Jesus only means he’s “god” figuratively. I mean, we ALL are, if you think about it. That’s his point. So there. Figured it out. Now we can go back to the way we were. Crisis averted. I’m out.

Okay, I have to say it. I’ve been reading this blog for awhile, and it seems like a recurring theme: Jesus keeps talking about… Jesus. “I and the Father are one.” etc. “I am the light of the world.” and so on.
Jesus would be FAR more effective if he did series on the 7 secrets to successful marriage or the 6 keys to Leadership Success. But instead it’s all about him. Yikes. No wonder the crowd leaves. No offense, Jesus, but there are WAY better ways of attracting people. Other leaders figured it out. I’m just going to read their blogs from now on. Bye.

As a Professor of Religious Studies, I’ve learned to parse Jesus’ real message, the real things he said, from the ridiculous assertions that he claimed to be, in some sense, a sort of “god”.
We now know that Real Jesus would never make such claims, and they are peripheral to his overall message of enacting more moderate religious reform.

I’m with ldrshp2020. This approach won’t work if we want to have thriving churches. You get crowds and then talk about Jesus-this, Jesus that…? No wonder they left. People need answers for better, more prosperous, successful living. But you’re just giving them yourself.

This is really disappointing. I saw Jesus had a blog, and thought it would be about social justice, but I get here and it’s all this exclusivist “I am the way” stuff. I’m out.

I just found this blog, too. I have to say I’m disappointed Jesus doesn’t address the downfall of our nation’s morals. The upcoming elections are too important to ignore. I thought he’d be talking about taking this country back but it’s all “follow ME” but to where? Obamastan? Count me out.

I’m done with this blog, too. It’s one big micro-aggression after another, and victimizes people of other beliefs. “I am THE way.” Maybe you could get away with saying that 2,000 years ago, but we live in a far, far more enlightened age.
