One of Our Littlest Listeners is in Heaven Today

Something Brant wrote in honor of a loyal listener:

Team Tori

One of our littlest listeners died this morning – Easter morning.

Her name is Victoria, or “Tori”, for short.

She loved her giraffe.

She had wonderful parents. Brennan and Lesa knew they would not have her long. So they made a “bucket list” for her, which included meeting us. This just happens to be the single biggest honor we’ve ever received.

Team Tori and Brant

She had Krabbe Leukodystrophy, and her parents have written beautifully and profoundly about her struggles and their journey. You can find out more here: Tori’s Triumph – Team Tori.

She passed away this morning at 9:05. That’s her last photo, with her stuffed giraffe. Her mom says, “Those big eyes are open wide in Heaven today.”

That it happened while so many were celebrating God’s ultimate victory over death reminds me, again, of the only source of hope in the whole world. It so happens that the One who overcame death also promises, “The lame will leap like deer.”
Tori got to do some neat stuff in her short life.

But you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
