WHO DO YOU FOLLOW?
Really give that sentence some thought. Who? Who are you following on Instagram or Twitter? Who are you wanting to emulate or just keep up with?
It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Deuteronomy 13:4
So many people want us to follow their lead and obey their voice. Filling our heads with things like, “You need to go here, you must look like me, you have to dress like us”…the list goes on. But why are we so busy trying to follow some trend rather than following the ONE thing that has stood the test of time? God. He and He alone has proven to be faithful and unchanging.
Today maybe take a moment and think about where we are getting our instructions from. Following God isn’t just a “going to church thing” it should be a “life thing” and something we choose daily. Its not easy and Im not preaching like it is. Im just saying we should give this some thought. People are only “popular” because they are followed…their status changes like the wind. God doesn’t NEED you to follow Him to still be God. He is still God with or without you. Yet, we worry more about Keeping up with the Kardashians than Keeping up with the Lover of our Soul. Ten years from now, those same stars will have faded but He will still remain.
So check your heart, follow your God, revere His name and keep your feet moving towards Him every single day.
