What to Do When the World Seems More Wrong Than Right

Ok, let’s get real for a second.

There’s a lot of awful things happening in the world right now. The “wrong” we see on a daily basis can be overwhelming.

If you’re listening to WAY-FM this week, you’ll hear a lot about the “wrong” of poverty – some pretty devastating  and awful poverty – in the world right now. It’s a serious part of the wrong that won’t ever seem to go away.

But we aren’t talking about these things to make you feel guilty or depressed.

We’re telling you about hope.

Philippians 4:8

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

Think about these things.

We saw pure joy as  we walked into the Compassion Projects in Honduras. We saw hope in the eyes of the pastors  and teachers. We felt the sincere gratitude and strong spirit of each family we met – those are the things we need to remember.

Children Day 3_75

Through the work of Compassion International in Jesus’ name, these people have hope.

“‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.’ And the one sitting on the throne said, ‘Look, I am making everything new!’ And then he said to me, ‘Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.'”

Revelation 21:4-5

Lauren Daigle puts it so well.

“Still through the tears and the questioning why
I will stand my ground where hope can be found!”

O, Lord by Lauren Daigle

This week, as you see the “wrong” in the world, know that even when we can’t see it, God is making things right.
