Jeremy Camp knows hurt.
“Jeremy often finds God teaches him through song… “He Knows,” is one in which God spoke comfort over Jeremy’s past. As he shares in his book I Still Believe, Jeremy lost his first wife to cancer at age 21 and in recent years, lost a baby to miscarriage with his wife, Adrienne. There are a lot of people hurting, and they often turn to Jeremy because of his platform.”
So, how does he work through the pain in life? He shares some answers in this story behind the song, “He Knows.”
Jeremy says, “Jesus wept. And he had compassion on what was happening with Lazarus. Mary and Martha were weeping and his heart went out. He understood.”

So where should we go when the hurt is overwhelming?
He continues, saying: “The best place to go when we’re saying “No one understands my pain. No one understands my hurt -” It’s Christ. He fully understands. I wrote this song in that places, saying, God, I’m so thankful that You, above anybody else, know my pain.”
