North Texas Giving Day is powered by the Communities Foundation of Texas, who helps thousands of non-profits raise critical funds. CFT has awarded more than $1.8 billion in grants since its founding in 1953. This year, 89.7 WAY-FM is featuring participating non-profits on the air and online to increase their awareness and inform listeners like you about local organizations that address important issues.

Kids Matter’s mission is to help children in need by providing programs that empower them and enhance their lives. We serve children whose families live at or below poverty level. Our vision is to break the cycle of poverty among children in the communities we serve and give them hope. I Can Still Shine Program” helps over 500 Abused Women and children yearly after they have left an abusive home. We started our first Battered Women’s Program and agency 1995. We provide our clients with services to start over. We assist them for 2 years after violence or abuse.

Food for the Soul fights childhood hunger, school by school, in north Texas! Through the Backpack Program, we provide more than 1,500 children with free meals and snacks for the weekend. Without our help, these children could go 65 hours without food. $5 feeds a child for a weekend, $180 feeds a child every weekend throughout the school year!
