Hey! We love that you're interested in this, but just a heads up, it's for North Alabama.

 Next Collection: April 09th | 10AM-2PM

Kroger – 7090 University Drive – Huntsville

It’s hard to say what exactly faith and service looks like, but this Spring, it’s going to look a lot like Peanut Butter and Jelly!!

We’ve partnered with The Food Bank of North Alabama along with Kroger to put together the WAY-FM PB&J Drive!  What we’re doing is collecting plastic jars of peanut butter and jelly to donate to the Food Bank of North Alabama to provide sandwiches and other foods for children in need. PB&J is our focus, but other non-perishable food items can be donated.

Why collect Peanut Butter and Jelly?

While we understand many may have nut allergies, for a lot of families, peanut butter and jelly is an easy and affordable staple. They also remain to be some of the most popular items at the Food Bank of North Alabama and they are always in need of more.  This is our way to help to provide for a ministry and to bring our community together through a common goal of living service out.

How can I help?

We’ll be outside of Kroger Supermarkets each Thursday for a month collecting supplies! Feel free to stop by any of these locations to drop off goods or to go grocery shopping!

  • April 09  – 7090 University Drive Huntsville
  • April 16 – 1101 Beltline Road Decatur
  • April 23 – 241 US-31, Hartselle, AL 35640
  • April 30 – 6070 Moores Mill Road Huntsville

Is Alabama really in need of food?

It’s easy to think of everyone in America having Slide31enough food, but that’s just not the case. It’s not just a problem in other countries, it’s also a problem in North Alabama.  Studies suggest that nearly one in four children are food insecure due to lack of funds in North Alabama. That’s more than the population of Decatur.

The Food Bank and their partner feeding programs feed an estimated 80,500 unduplicated persons annually. Click Here to find out more about the food bank and what they are doing to make a difference.

We are so glad to be able to partner with Kroger on this PB&J drive.    Last year, Kroger launced their Zero Hunger Zero Waste Plan which is their commitment to ending hunger in the communities where they operate and eliminating waste in the company by 2025.   We know they are great partners of the Food Bank of North Alabama and it is great that we all share the same passion for wanting to help end hunger right here in North AL.

Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. – Isaiah 58:10 NLT
