104.5 WAY-FM and Gresham Ford have chosen our first Hometown Hero award winners! We are excited to be able to honor Kimberly Arndt, Biana Neet, and Marshall Crites for acting as Good Samaritans helping to save the life of a person who was being attacked in Tigard.
This heroism, stepping up in a time of crisis and acting selflessly, has earned these three individuals a much deserved award. All three were honored at the Casting Crowns concert on September 30 with a plaque and a few other gifts of appreciation.
Judy Arndt sent us this nomination:
“On January 2, 2016, my daughter Kimberly Arndt and her best friend, Briana Neet, along with Marshall Crites came to the aid of a lady in Tigard who was being attack and stabbed while out walking in her neighborhood. Kim stayed with the victim while Briana followed the attacker to a cul de sac where he hid behind the home of Marshall and his wife Noelle. Briana and Marshall called 911 and lead the police to the attacker’s location where they were able to apprehend him and take him into custody. All three of these individuals were instrumental in saving the life of this lady and I feel are very deserving of this award. I have photos and a recorded video from a local news station I can supply if needed. Thank you for considering them for your local hero award.”
Noelle Crites, Marshall’s wife, has also written about the attack and her thoughts on this Hometown Hero award on her blog. https://forcritessake.wordpress.com/2016/09/27/my-hubby-the-hometown-hero/
