The Reality of Suicide
Here are some very shocking numbers about the reality of suicide today.
Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among 24-35 year olds.
1 in 65,000 children between the ages of 10-14 will commit suicide this year
Nearly 30,000 Americans commit suicide every year.
Every 18 minutes, someone in America will die from suicide.
The suicide rate among 10-14 year olds has doubled in the last two decades
God’s heart is breaking for people who are so depressed and desperate for relief that they take their own life. Please pray for those who are struggling with issues of depression. In addition, reach out to those around you and let them know they have a confident to whom they can turn and share their pains, worries and fears.
Additionally, there are a number of resources to which you can direct those who are struggling:
Gateway Counseling Center – Dr. Hawkins is located in Boynton Beach
Counseling and Neurotherapy Associates – Adam Colling, licensed therapist in Palm Beach Gardens
Both of the therapists mentioned above are Business Impact Partners with WAY-FM. We’re incredibly grateful for their support.
Here are some other resources you may want to explore:
