Like many, you’re probably tired.
You’re tired of hearing about the pandemic, tired of hearing about racial tension, and tired of hearing the continuous barrage of negative news coverage.
You’re tired of being tired!
Here are 3 things that we invite you to try today that can help you:
1. CUT YOURSELF SOME SLACK
There’s a churchy word for this idea called grace, but we’ll spare you the sermon. You don’t need it.
Please hear us when we say this: You matter, you’re doing a good job, and you’re loved! Your Heavenly Father has given you favor through Jesus’ death and resurrection, and nothing can ever take that away!
You can’t pour out what you don’t have. So, if you don’t have the energy, take time to rest today. Take a salt bath or grab a massage. There’s nothing wrong with a little self-care. You’ll feel more refreshed, and you’ll feel ready when it’s time to serve again!
2. TURN OFF THE NOISE
Turn off Facebook. Turn off the news. Turn off the negativity!
The things happening in our world today are mentally taxing. There’s nothing wrong with being wise or informed, but don’t let it control every part of your life.
Too much information is overwhelming, and overwhelming isn’t what you need. Give yourself a break and fill that time with something meaningful. Pray. Journal. Get that home project finished that you’ve been working on!
3. HAVE SOME FUN!
Laughing and smiling are contagious. If you’re smiling and laughing, someone else has the opportunity to feed off of your joy!
Play a board game with the family or make plans to meet some friends at the park! Time spent in community with each other is time well spent!
If you’re practicing self-care, turning down the noise, and turning up the joy, you can’t go wrong!
