Everyone is STILL talking about Miley’s scandalous performance at the VMAs. I was appalled after seeing it, but now I’m just sad. No, I don’t know Miley personally, and no I don’t have any idea what made her decide to act like that on national television. But I do know what a hurting girl looks like and I do know what seeking validation and attention looks like. I know that because I’ve lived it. When I was younger and searching for my worth I was seeking validation and attention all over the place. Maybe you know exactly what I’m talking about. Praise God that He slowly revealed to me that my validation could be found nowhere but in Him. This is why I am so passionate about young girls finding their value and view of themselves from Christ, because I had a hard time with that. Miley is having a hard time with that. She is is searching and seems lost. May we pray for her instead of condemning her during this search.
