The Secret Keeper Girl Crazy Hair Tour is happening August 30th at Thomasville Road Baptist Church! At this amazing night for mothers and daughters we’ll be looking at what it truly means to be beautiful! We want to prepare all young women to face life’s challenges head on knowing that they are ALL beautiful in God’s eyes!
It’s a known fact that a person’s own self image is tied to their self esteem! Recently Forbes published an article with results from SEVERAL studies with some shocking (or not so shocking) revelations:
“One [study] found that 80% of American women are dissatisfied with their appearance. Another showed that 60% of adult women have negative thoughts about themselves weekly, compared to 36% of men. Perhaps the most frightening statistic is that an astounding 78% of teen girls are plagued by self-criticism and 72% worry about their image everyday. And the problem begins very young, with 51% of 9 and 10 year-old girls admitting that feel better about themselves if they are on a diet.”
Now take statistics like that and add in struggles like addiction and homelessness. That’s what the women of Chelsea House face everyday! These women need the self confidence to overcome staggering obstacles and help them beat addiction, find jobs, and care for their families.
This month we can do just that with YOUR help! We want to bless mothers in need at Chelsea House and help their hair look its best! All month long we’ll be collecting hair products for these special moms!
So next time you’re at the store grab an extra bottle of:
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Hairspray
- Hair Dye
- Hair Brush
- And anything else you use to make yourself feel beautiful!
Together we’ll help remind these moms that they’re beautiful and deserve beautiful hair too!
