Meet our May Community Partner of the Month!
The Lifeline Denver Centre is a place for the Denver community to come together to address the problem of hunger right here in our backyard and around the world. Since 1980, Lifeline Christian Mission has partnered with local leaders around the world to help develop holistic solutions to problems faced by vulnerable communities. They believe that sustainable change comes from the community itself. Because within each community are godly, visionary people, problem-solvers, unique resources, a strong work ethic and dreams of a brighter tomorrow.
The Lifeline Denver Centre, a ministry of Lifeline Christian Mission, opened its doors to serve our community in July 2023. Through meal pack events, families, neighbors, and strangers are able to join together with one common goal: pack shelf-stable, nutritious meals for those who are facing food insecurity. Their meal pack events are for people of all ages and all abilities! Whether you’re 5 or 95, there’s an opportunity to serve for everyone.
A meal is packed in 4 easy steps:
1. Mix.
2. Weigh.
3. Seal.
4. Ship!
All of the dried ingredients are poured into a meal bag, the bag is then weighed, sealed, and placed in a box ready to be shipped to those in need! The meals that are packed at the Lifeline Denver Centre are donated to food banks in the Denver area to help our neighbors in need AND are distributed around the world to refugees, students, and those who have been affected by natural disasters.
Signing up to volunteer at a meal pack is a great way to give back with your family, your small group, your co-workers, and your classmates! They also offer special events where you can bring in your employees for team building, your 5th grade class for a field trip, or your 10-year-old for their birthday party!
