PDX COMMUNITY IMPACT SPOTLIGHT: OPEN HOUSE MINISTRIES

Hey! We love that you're interested in this, but just a heads up, it's for Portland.

Open House Ministries is a family shelter in Vancouver, Washington, housing 100-plus residents a night. More than half of their residents are homeless children.

Open House Ministries walks alongside homeless families as they rebuild their lives. Watch this video and learn more about their program and families who have undergone the difficult work of transforming their lives, reclaiming their independence and finding home again.

Open House Ministries has many opportunities for volunteers to share their skills, experiences and talents as we work together to serve homeless families.

The continued generosity of volunteers’ time, talents and resources allows Open House to achieve results and press ahead with the shelter’s vision and mission. With volunteer contributions, Open House Ministries is able to offer quality teaching and programs to families seeking to become self-sufficient, contributing members of the community.
