It is hard to believe that a simple shoe box could change a life. But that’s exactly what happened for Alex when he got an  Operation Christmas Child shoe box gift as a kid.

Alex is from Rwanda and at six years old he watched members of his family be murdered right in front of him during the genocide of 1994.  Alex had to flee for his life. So, how is it that a child who saw the unimaginable have their own life changed by a shoe box?  This is Alex’s story.

Alex is such a great example of the Lord taking what was meant for evil and turning it for good. If you would like to do some good, consider packing an Operation Christmas Child shoe box with your kids this weekend. It is a great way to teach them about caring for “the least of these,” and it is a lot of fun.  Boxes need to be dropped off by Monday the 20th!
