The last time Michael W. Smith visited, Betty Rock got very confused when looking at his old photos, thinking that they were pictures of George Michael, or as she said, the “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go Guy.” This time when he visited, we decided to really put her to the test by having her decide if these photos were pictures of George Michael, Michael W. Smith, or Will Smith. He also shared about his… … Continue reading
It’s no secret that music can move our hearts in powerful ways. That’s Jacob’s story. He was ready to end it all when God told him to turn on the radio. A Zach Williams song was playing, and everything changed. When we shared Jacob’s story with Zach, we were surprised to find out that Zach had a similar experience 7 years ago. We also talked about Zach’s new music and played a fun round of… … Continue reading
For as long as we can remember, Wally’s beard has been his trademark! But during our most recent Support Drive, he made the promise to shave it off if our Poddies (Wally Show podcast listeners) gave $10,000. They did that and more, so Wally followed through with only a few tears. … Continue reading
John Crist, the George Clooney of Christian comedy, is off the market. It came to our attention that John has a new girlfriend, country star Lauren Alaina. There is no way we could have him in and not discuss this! So now that John has conquered stand up comedy, he has set his sights on the rap game. Check out John Crist’s new rap song “Check Your Heart” featuring DJ Mykael V, nobigdyl., & 1K… … Continue reading
For years, Wally has argued that he could easily defeat an 8-year-old black belt. Since none have stepped up to the challenge, Wally decided to prove himself by taking on some karate boards with a punch, a kick, and a head-butt. … Continue reading
Sadly, Zach is leaving our family after nearly 13 years. He’s been promoted within WAY-FM, and while we’re THRILLED to still be able to see him every day, we’ll definitely miss him on the show since he is Finally Flying the Nest and moving to a different city. As we said goodbye, we shared a few of our favorite Zach moments and even wrote some poems in his honor. Wally’s Poem: What can you say… … Continue reading
Betty Rock does some of the world’s best impersonations (according to her), so we decided to use her Lil Jon impression to jazz up the We Are Messengers song “Maybe It’s Ok.” Darren could barely hold it together enough to sing along. Darren also talked about taking the hope of songs like “Maybe It’s Ok” to every human by performing in non-traditional venues while on tour. Plus, he covers a serious topic that touches Wally’s… … Continue reading
When David Crowder joins us, it’s always a blast (or a hoot-and-a-half, as he might say). As always, the conversation took some interesting turns. He also gave a stunning performance of his song “Red Letters.” … Continue reading
It was an absolute delight to have Kathie Lee Giffords and Nicole C. Mullen join us to talk about their new film “The God Who Sees.” The film incorporates music, so Wally decided to play a round of “Name That Out of Tune.” We also got to talk to Kathie Lee about how faith is a part of every aspect of her life, what that’s looked like throughout her career, and how she’s pursuing her… … Continue reading
